Within easy reach of Brighton, Amberley Castle is a delightfully restored medieval castle now run as a luxury hotel.

A castle since 1377, Amberley Castle was owned by the Church for most of its history, until sold in private hands in 1893. Amberley Castle has undergone extensive rennovations, but is still very much the real deal. You enter the castle through a portcullis past massive rounded bastions in the curtain wall.

Once inside Amberley Castle you will be totally amazed. It really is a luxurious and breathtakingly tastefully decorated place. The designwork is exquisite and never battles with the original featues. If only all owners could be as clever with our heritage as the Cummins family (the present owners) have been.

Peacocks on the lawn, four poster beds, wall tapestries and a good collection of arms and armour make Amberley Castle feel like the fairytale castle you always dreamed about.

You can stay at Amberley Castle and although not cheap, the experience is well worth the price. Amberley Castle is also now a popular wedding location.
