The ruins of Bellister Castle are crumbling walls of moss-covered mystery. All that remains of the original castle defences today is about 20 foot high section of the outside 15th century tower on a low motte. A more modern building has been errected directly adjacent to the ruins. The course of the old moat is visible as an earthwork

The 'Old Man of Bellister' is the resident castle ghost but not everyone gets the chance to see him because Bellister Castle is occupied and privately owned so not open to the general public.

However, if you do want to visit a haunted castle, it may be worth enquiring whether you can have a look around.
