Dunster Castle sits above one of the prettiest villages in Somerset. A 13th century gatehouse stands as an imposing enterance to the Elizabethan buildings within Dunster Castle.
Open from April-October Saturdays to Wednesdays, Dunster Castle has some lovely garden walks featuring prime specimens of rhododendrons, magnolias, fuchsias and hydrangeas.
Dunster Castle is also home to the National Collection of strawberry trees
The castle is mentioned in the Domesday Book. "William of Mohun holds Torre and there is his castle", and now a full Millenium later is cared for by the National Trust.
