Lord Conway described Leeds Castle as 'The Loveliest Castle in the World'. This was not hyperbole.

Built in AD 857 Leeds Castle was originally a Saxon fortress built largely of timber as was usual in Saxon times. Leeds Castle was rebuilt in stone by the Normans. It was later to become a favoured royal palace for King Henry VIII.

Leeds Castle is one of the few historic attractions in Britain to stay open all year round (Except 5th November and Christmas Day. Leeds Castle is licenced for weddings.

The grounds open at 10am daily throughout the year and boast excellent walks.

One of the great medieval castles of England.
