A wonderful house and gardens where you can see the the English National Hyacinth Collection.

In 1308 Sir Thomas Ingilby saved King Edward I from a wild boar that was about to attack the king. From then on the family were heavily involved in politics and were involved in numerous plots, including thre 'The Rising of the North' in 1568. Ripley Castle was the home of the Ingilby family for seven hundred years.

One of the great medieval castles of England.
