The castle at Warwick is one of the midland's greatest tourist attractions. First built in 1068 by William the Conqueror, Warwick Castle has stood prodly ever since. Once a royal castle, Warwick was important during The Wars of the Roses as the 'Kingmaker' Richard Neville, Earl of Warwick from 1449 to 1471 lived here.

Still a complete building (14th century Guy’s Tower has five storeys) the entire experience of visiting Warwick castle is fabulous fun. You can stroll on the walkways that run along the curtain walls where archers once shot at besieging armies.

From kitchens to dungeons to exhibitions, there is so much to see and do at Warwick castle that we recommend you take a whole day to explore this particular fortress.

The Great hall and Staterooms are very nicely ornamented but the real gems are the towers and curtain walls that dominate the landscape.

One of the great medieval castles of England.
