A caravan park within the grounds of Witton allow visitors to 'stay in a real castle' at very low rates.

The Medieval castle at Witton-le-Wear in Northumberland was built in the early 1400s. It was partially dismantled in 1689 by Lord Darcy.

Witton Castle was further remodelled Following a fire in 1796 but the curtain wall is still largely original. look out for 'loopholes' from where bow and arrows could be safely used to keep invaders of the castle out.
